Sophie obtained her Veterinary degree from the University of Liege, Belgium in 2001. After qualifying she moved to Lyon in France to do a one-year-internship in Clinics of Small Animals at the Veterinary School of Lyon where she developed a special interest in cytology. During this year she was also working in a private veterinary practice, covering emergency duty out of hours.
She completed a 3-year residency in Veterinary Pathology at the Veterinary School of Nantes, France in September 2005. During her residency, she worked predominantly on injection-site sarcomas in cats and microchip-associated sarcomas in mice. She also spent a few weeks at the Veterinary School at Onderstepoort, South Africa, to do pathology of tropical diseases.
Sophie joined Finn Pathologists in January 2006. She plans to pass the American College of Veterinary Pathologists examination in the next few years. Her professional interests include oncology, immunohistochemistry and cytology, especially cytology of the lymph node.
