Bob Gumbrell BVSc. DipMicrobiol MRCVS

Bob has worked intermittently at Finn Pathologists since 2003, and is now part of the Pathology Team. He brings to the team a broad and long experience in diagnostic pathology. He is a New Zealander and worked in rural practice in New Zealand for 5 years before moving into pathology and disease investigation in the government laboratory service in New Zealand in 1969.

In 1990 he exchanged jobs and worked at the St Boswell’s VI Centre, part of the Scottish Agricultural College. In 1993 he came to the UK and since then has worked at the Aberdeen VI Centre for over 2 years and has done several locums for the English VI Service. In 1996 he joined Rest Associates and since then has worked in intensive companion animal diagnostic histopathology at several organisations, with varying periods off operating a hotel narrow boat business and travelling including regular trips to New Zealand to enjoy his 10 grandchildren. He claims to be a generalist with an interest in sheep diseases, not used at Finn Pathologists!
