Annalize Ide BVSc(Hons) MMedVet(Path) MRCVS

Annalize was born in South Africa in 1969. She qualified as a veterinary surgeon from Onderstepoort, South Africa in 1993. After qualifying she came to the UK, where she spent 18 months in mixed private practice in Southwest Wales, dealing mainly with dairy cattle, sheep and small animals.

In 1995 she returned to Onderstepoort as a postgraduate student in Pathology. She obtained a BVSc honours degree, with diagnostic pathology as main subject, in 1997 and completed her Masters degree in veterinary diagnostic pathology (MMedVet(Path)) in 2002. Her research for her Masters degree involved investigation of debilitating disease in lions in the Kruger National Park in South Africa.

Annalize joined Finn Pathologists as a diagnostic pathologist in 1999 and is now Head of Pathology. Her special interests include oral pathology, oncology and immunohistochemistry. She is a member of the British Small Animal Veterinary Association, British Veterinary Oncology Study Group, British Veterinary Dental Association and the British Society of Veterinary Pathologists.
